The Method
Music is a language that demands both technical fluency and emotional depth. My studio focuses on the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) curriculum, ensuring students build a robust foundation in theory, history, and performance technique.
Teaching Pedagogy
My teaching is student-centred and adaptive, meeting each pianist where they are rather than fitting them to a single mould. Lessons move through a deliberate arc — warm-up technique, repertoire study, and ear training/theory — so every skill feeds the next.
Technique is taught from the body outward: relaxed shoulders, natural hand shape, and weight transfer from the arm rather than finger-only playing. Repertoire is chosen to balance the student's taste with the milestones they need to reach, and sight-reading, rhythmic independence, and expressive interpretation are woven in from the earliest stages so that reading and feeling music develop together. Mistakes are treated as information, not failure — the studio rewards curiosity and patient repetition over speed.

Student Expectations
Practicing 5 to 6 days a week in shorter daily sessions is far more effective than long, infrequent ones. Consistent, focused repetition builds muscle memory and lasting musical understanding. Below is the recommended daily practice time by level.

How Lessons Work
Weekly Schedule
Lessons are held on the same day and time each week, building a predictable routine that supports steady progress. The studio observes statutory holidays and takes a winter break over the holidays; lessons paused during these breaks resume the following week at no extra cost.

Cancellations & Refunds
To reschedule or cancel a lesson without charge, please give at least 24 hours' advance notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice are non-refundable, as the reserved time can rarely be filled on short notice. In the event of illness or emergency, please reach out and we will work something out.

Parents Welcome
Parents of young students are warmly invited and encouraged to attend the first few lessons. A familiar, supportive presence helps children feel comfortable and settled at the piano, and gives parents a clear view of how practice works at home.

Lesson Rates
